Plexiglas printing
Plexiglass, also known as acrylic, polymethyl methacrylate or perspex, is lighter, stronger and more durable than standard double-glazed glass. The material has a luxurious and classy look and is provided with UV prints.
Available in any shape or size
Plexiglass is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and can be milled into almost any shape. Your print is printed directly on the acrylic on the back. You can order Plexiglass with many different looks.
Go for clear or opal
Almost everyone is familiar with the clear variant of Plexiglass. This type is often used as a panel or contour-cut shape on the wall. Plexiglass opal has a milky white appearance and therefore light shining behind it comes into its own nicely, for example in light boxes.
Also choose blockout film
In the blockout variant, the back side gets a mirrored print with full color. On the back side of the material there is a blockout foil which gives the effect of printing with 200% white. This film serves as additional protection.
Create the desired look
With plexiglass you have the choice of different thicknesses. In addition, in many cases you can choose to print on the front or back. The material and the print are scratch sensitive, by printing on the back there is less chance of damage.
Installation of Plexiglass
You can choose to use spacers for attaching your Plexiglass panels. Place the spacers up to every 80cm. For the clear or opal Plexiglass variants you can also use blind Suspension plates. Also place the suspension plates every 80cm maximum. Unfortunately, the suspension plates are not suitable for Plexiglass with blockout. Please note during assembly that Plexiglass is sensitive to scratches. Plexiglass has a relatively high coefficient of expansion. This means that at changing temperatures the Plexiglass will work. This can be a few millimeters per meter. Keep this in mind when mounting Plexiglass by making your drill holes a little wider. This gives your panel more room to expand and prevents the Plexiglsss from bulging.

In what thicknesses is plexiglass available?
This material is available in 3 and 5 mm.
What is the best way to clean plexiglass?
You can clean plexiglass with a damp fabric and if necessary with all-purpose cleaner. Do not put too much pressure, this way you will avoid damaging the material. Then dry the plate with a cloth.
Does plexiglass work as an insulator?
Plexiglass has a slightly lower insulation value than double glazing. Be aware that the material expands with changing conditions such as temperature and moisture.
Can plexiglass start to deform?
Yes, with changing (weather) conditions, the material can shrink and expand. This can be several millimeters. Therefore, make drill holes slightly wider. This will give the material more room to expand and prevent the material from bulging.
What printing technique is used for this material?
The UV printing technique! Here the ink is hardened by a UV lamp. The ink is scratch-resistant and gives a beautiful finish. Good to know: the print is not odor-free, this goes away after a little while.
